This page explains what happens to your information when you visit our site or use our free tools. It's short on purpose. If anything here isn't clear, email us and we'll explain it.
Who we are
The Big Bad Good (BBG) is an AI consulting firm based in the Seattle area. We build custom AI systems for clients. The tools on this site are free demonstrations of that work.
Contact: hello@thebigbadgood.com
What we collect
Your email address. You give it to us so we can send you the report the tool generates.
What you type into the tool. The software tool or category you asked us to look into.
Basic technical information. Your browser sends an IP address automatically when you visit any website. We record yours for three days so the tool can enforce its one-run-per-day limit. After three days it's deleted automatically.
That's the whole list. We don't ask for your name, your company, your phone number, or anything else.
Why we collect it
To send you your report. That's the main reason, and for your email address it may be the only one. See "Will you email me again?" below.
To keep the tool working. We limit how many reports can be generated in a day. That takes some record of who has used it.
Will you email me again?
No. We use your email address to send you your report. We don't add you to a mailing list, we don't send follow-ups, and we never sell, rent or share your address with anyone.
One thing we do that's worth telling you about: we look at the kinds of organizations using these tools, mostly by glancing at email domains, to understand who finds them useful and what we should be writing about. That's about the audience as a group, not about you. Nobody gets contacted because of it.
If we ever change our minds and want to start emailing people, we'll update this page first and we won't apply it to addresses collected before the change.
Who else sees your information
We use a small number of outside companies to run this tool. They only see what they need to do their job, and none of them may use your information for their own purposes.
| Company | What they do | Where they are |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosts our website and the form you filled in | United States |
| Cloudflare | Runs the tool itself and serves thebigbadgoodtools.com | United States |
| Anthropic | Provides the AI model that writes your report | United States |
| Resend | Delivers the report to your inbox | United States |
On the AI part specifically: we use Anthropic's API under their commercial terms, which means what you type into the tool is not used to train their AI models.
We don't sell your information. We never have and we won't.
How long we keep it
In the tool itself: three days. Your email address, your request, and your IP address are stored by the tool for three days and then deleted automatically. Nothing has to happen for that to work. It's built in.
In our inbox: until you ask us to remove it. Once a day, the tool sends us a summary of the previous day's activity, listing what was requested and the email address that requested it. That summary sits in our email like any other message. So while the tool forgets you after three days, we still have a record of your address unless you ask us to delete it.
We're telling you this because it's true, not because we have to. If you'd rather we didn't keep it, email us and we'll remove it.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Delete it
- Correct it if it's wrong
- Stop emailing you
Email hello@thebigbadgood.com and we'll take care of it. No forms, no process. We'll respond within 30 days and usually much faster.
If you're in the UK or the European Union, the GDPR gives you these rights formally, along with the right to complain to your local data protection authority. If you're in California, the CCPA gives you similar rights. We handle every request the same way regardless of where you live.
Cookies and analytics
We use Vercel's built-in analytics to understand how people find and use the site. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you from site to site. It collects:
- Pages you visited
- How you arrived, such as a search engine or a direct link
- A rough location at the country level
- The type of device and browser you used
This is aggregate traffic information. We use it to see which pages are worth keeping. We don't use it to build a profile of you, and we don't combine it with the email address you give the Tool Vetter.
We don't run session recordings, we don't use advertising trackers, and we don't run ad retargeting.
Children
These tools are meant for people working in business settings. They aren't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this page
If we change how any of this works, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll say so plainly rather than burying it.
